Fire Alarm at Villains Building
That noise you just heard was four fire trucks being called to the Villains building at 1672 Haight Street. We ran outside like everyone else to see what was going on.

The early scene included four large fire rigs, a couple of dozen firefighters, ladders, hoses, and a total roadblock at the intersection of Haight and Belvedere. It looks like everything's okay now, though, and things are quieting back down. A fireman who responded to the call said that after a quick initial look, everything seemed under control and most of the firefighters were sent away. The initial call was to report the smell of smoke, and some patter over the police scanner seemed to suggest burned food was the culprit. We're glad someone called it in! Okay, get back to your night.
