Odds & Ends, 8/24: The slouchy kids say "Don't fret."

Things to do plus a pop quiz.

First, a little quizeroo from one of our readers. Adam B. wanted to know more about the Gamble Memorial Park (the lovely, mossy green little island that slopes down from the west side of the N-Judah tunnel at Cole). He couldn't find out who Richard Gamble was--do any of you know? The nearest we could get was this obituary, which looks like it could be our Mr. Gamble, but then again who knows. Now the candy. First, tonight at Milk Bar, if you're into staying in the neighborhood, DJ Sticky will be spinning 90's hip hop. No cover, no hassle. Saturday at 9 PM Madrone is hosting a garage rock house party--$5 after 10 PM. Rock it out. Oh yeah, and now the food. Now that you know more about the legacy that is Giovanni's pizza we suggest you tipple in one night after a show to check that bad boy out. It's going to be that kind of night. Think about wandering into Parada 22 for another one of their midmorning brunches, if you're brave enough for some top-drawer huevos rancheros and a tall mimosa.

Never miss a story.
