Mystery Tenant Teases at 424 Hayes
The former home of Anna's Market will apparently be getting a new tenant in a couple of months -- but who?

Signage in the windows of 424 Hayes appeared this week, revealing a logo and provocative slogan: "GET INSIDE ME" The windows also tout "DECEMBER 2013" as the date for the store's unveiling, presumably. We don't immediately recognize the logo, and we can only speculate what this store will sell based on that cheeky slogan. Can anybody out there identify the brand, or want to take a guess at what this mystery tenant might be? Update! Commenter Mr. Hayes has identified the logo as belonging to a brand called Alternative Apparel. The company carries clothing and accessories for men and women made with an emphasis on social responsibility. According to their website:
"Founded in 1995, Alternative is a fashion lifestyle brand best known for comfort, simplicity and our commitment to sustainability. Through innovative apparel design and involvement in purposeful causes, we aim to connect people, inspire creativity and catalyze change."
Their website goes on to explain the values they demand from vendors -- no forced labor, no child labor, fair wages, etc. They also carry a line of eco-friendly products under the label Alternative Earth. This would seemingly be the company's third store, having existing locations in Los Angeles and Venice CA. We'll let you know if/when an opening date is announced.
