Eatwell Farm's Ice Box Now Open At Second Act

The newest tenant of note at 1727 Haight's Second Act Marketplace is Ice Box, a soft serve and float operation that's a collaboration between proprietress Roma Gray and Eatwell Farm in Dixon.
We got the word they were opening yesterday and showed up stat.
Gray started the operation a year ago and ran it out of a food truck for a while, she said, even though the truck posed some logistical problems. But when space became available at Second Act she rolled the soft serve machines (named Helga and Oola) off the truck and set up shop.
The operation opened yesterday, serving vanilla and stoneground chocolate soft serve. Gray said that she's expecting a shipment of sodas and strawberries from Eatwell Farm tomorrow, so she can start turning out strawberry soft serve and floats shortly.
Ice creams at the stand are $5 to $7, and can be served on handmade waffle cones. Swing by the new spot and let us know what you think.
A new law took effect January 1 allowing streets with dining and retail to lower their speed limits, and San Francisco wasted no time implementing this on seven retail-heavy streets.
