Life may soon return to 115 New Montgomery St., formerly home to The Melt.

On July 26th, prolific San Francisco restaurateur Adriano Paganini (Beretta, Starbelly, Super Duper Burgers, Delarosa, Lolinda) filed an application to serve beer and wine in the space under the name The Bird.

Jacob Cross, vice president of marketing for Paganini's newly launched restaurant group, Back Of The House, says the group is not ready to discuss the project.

However, the group's most recent press release offers some clues. "At least three new concepts are slated for 2016: two full-service concepts and an additional brand new fast-casual concept..." it says.

With full-service Paganini restaurants in Hayes Valley and the Marina already in the works and 115 Montgomery's past as a fast-casual eatery, The Bird's future seems pretty clear. It would be his third fast-casual concept, after Super Duper and Uno Dos Tacos, both of which have locations nearby.

More details to come as we learn more.
