Originals Vinyl Now Open For Business On Fillmore StreetPhotos: Stephen Jackson/Hoodline

Back in August, we reported that the long-vacant storefront at 701 Fillmore was soon to occupied by Originals Vinyl, a record shop and ultrasonic vinyl cleaning service run by brothers Dominic and Matthew Siracusa.

The store softly opened for business this past Saturday, October 8th. Although the Siracusa brothers report there is still much to be done in the way of organizing their inventory and putting the finishing touches on the space, they are very much ready for customers seeking both hard and not-so-hard-to-find records, as well as their state-of-the art ultrasonic record cleaning services ($2.50 per record).

The duo now also offer de-warping services for old records for $10—the price includes a cleaning as well.

"The reception from the neighborhood has been great so far," Dominic told us. "It's been amazing."

With a much larger space (1,100 square feet, compared to 140 square feet at their old Mission location), the Siracusas are looking forward to stocking their crates with many more finds than before.

Originals Vinyl will host its official opening party this Saturday, October 15th. The store will be open for business all day, but DJs will be getting started around 5pm, and the party will last into the evening.

For now, swing by Originals Vinyl and welcome them to the neighborhood. They're open Monday-Thursday from 12-7pm, Friday and Saturday from 12-8pm, and Sunday from 12-6pm.
