A man was carjacked at gunpoint in the Financial District early Saturday morning.

A 40-year-old man was sitting in his car on Broadway and Battery street at 12:19am when another car approached and parked next to him.

A 23-year-old man got out of the other car, pointed a gun at the victim, and demanded his property. He then fled in the victim's car.

The suspect crashed the car on the 100 block of Brannan Street in South Beach, where officers arrested him.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and lost his car, wallet, and cellphone.
