Live jazz and lobster: Eddie V's Prime Seafood debuts in uptown CharlottePhoto: Eddie V's Prime Seafood/Yelp

A new lounge and restaurant has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Located at 101 S. Tryon St. in uptown Charlotte, the fresh arrival is called Eddie V's Prime Seafood.

Part seafood spot, part modernized speakeasy, the upscale chain has restaurants from coast to coast. Look for live jazz every night and a menu that offers Chilean sea bass steamed Hong Kong style with a light soy broth, lobster tails broiled with drawn butter and lemon, and Norwegian salmon sauteed with young vegetables and mustard vinaigrette.

The bar features handcrafted cocktails and a deep list of global wines.

With a five-star rating out of nine reviews on Yelp so far, Eddie V's Prime Seafood is off to a strong start.

Chelsea C., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 2, said, "The restaurant is beautiful and good for a romantic night out or a large group. Everything we ate was amazing and I highly recommended it!"

And S. Elizabeth C. said, "Starting with cocktails at the bar to the seafood tower, which blew our socks off, to an incredible set of entrees and delicious desert, it was the BEST MEAL we've had in Charlotte. Our bartender, Mallory, made the best martini I've had in Charlotte as well. We could not have imagined a better evening on the town and I will recommend this restaurant to anyone."
