1. Pestle Rock

Topping the list is Pestle Rock. Located at 2305 NW Market St. (between N. Ballard and N. 24th avenues) in Ballard, it's the highest rated Thai restaurant in Seattle, boasting 4.5 stars out of 575 reviews on Yelp.

Pestle Rock offers dishes authentic to Northeast Thailand, and strives to source local and all-natural ingredients whenever possible, the website explains. For a truly authentic experience, the restaurant encourages diners to eat with their hands, as the people of the Isan region do.

Pestle Rock offers lunch and dinner menus and a full line of cocktails. Try spicy small bites like sai ua, homemade Thai sausage, and the Ka-Kop Kratiem Prick Thai, deep-fried frog legs. Then dive into the selection of soups and salads, and rice, noodle and curry dishes, like the popular kao soi, a curry soup cooked with egg noodles and chicken then topped with red onion, pickled mustard greens and crispy noodles.

2. Amazing Thai Cuisine

With a plethora of Thai staples on its menu, Amazing Thai Cuisine offers dine-in, take-out, delivery and catering services.

The menu features more than 50 options, including noodle and rice dishes, curries and salads. Try fare such as the Garlic Delight, a choice of meat marinated with garlic, black pepper and broccoli; or pad talay, sautéed seafood with mushroom, baby corn, onion, celery, zucchini, carrot, bell pepper and basil in chili paste.

Pop Pop offers Thai favorites like papaya salad, yellow curry, garlic pork and pad kee mao (spicy drunken noodles). For their entrees, diners can choose between chicken, pork, prawn or fried tofu.

Other house favorites here: the braised pork leg served with steamed Chinese broccoli, pickled mustard greens, chili sauce and jasmine rice; and the Woonsen Pad Thai Noodle, featuring bean thread noodles and a choice of protein stir-fried in tamarind sauce with egg, bean sprouts, chives and minced shallots then garnished with ground peanuts, fresh bean sprouts and lime.

Araya's Place, a vegan Thai spot in the University District, is another much-loved go-to, with 4.5 stars out of 303 Yelp reviews. Head over to 5240 University Way NE (between 52nd and 55th streets) to see for yourself.

Established in 1987, Araya's Place is family owned and operated and touts itself as the first vegan Thai restaurant in the Northwest. The business is named for the family matriarch, who spent time traveling the world and developing a passion for fine food. There are now four locations: two in Seattle, one in Bellevue and another in Los Angeles.

Araya's Place offers a lunch buffet and dinner service seven days a week. Look for house favorites like the pad thai and the Drunken Mushroom, a spicy dish with wide rice noodles stir-fried in garlic and chili with seitan, asparagus, portobello, shiitake and white mushrooms and topped with basil.
