A three-alarm fire that erupted just before midnight at Fiddler's Green in North Beach slightly injured one firefighter, displaced nine residents, and left the bar too dangerous to occupy. 

A first responder who suffered minor injuries during the incident was treated at the scene and released back to work shortly after, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

Four adults who were displaced from units above the bar are receiving aid from the Red Cross. A family of five tourists who were staying at a short-term rental nearby were forced out due to smoke damage, but were relocated to a hotel, SFFD spokesperson Lt. Jonathan Baxter posted to Twitter.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials said the blaze started between two buildings and was contained by 1:55 a.m.

"A lot of the truck companies were in there with axes and ceiling hooks and a saw and opening up the walls and ceilings to reveal the fire and then the engine companies would put water on it," San Francisco Fire Captain Sherman Tillman told ABC7.

This morning, empty beer kegs and debris were strewn about in front of the pub and on the street. Fire crews are expected to be on the scene throughout the morning. 

According to the pub's website, the building was constructed in 1901 and survived the 1906 earthquake. Fiddler's Green originally opened in 1991, but temporarily closed in early 2016. Later that year, the bar reopened under new ownership after a major overhaul, which included the installation of a mezzanine level and an additional upstairs bar.
