Topping the list is CVI.CHE 105. It's led by chef and owner Juan Chipoco, who was raised in Lima, Peru. Located at 1245 Lincoln Road in South Beach, it is the highest-rated Peruvian restaurant in Miami Beach, boasting 4.5 stars out of 602 reviews on Yelp. It also has eateries in downtown Miami and at Aventura Mall.

As the name suggests, ceviche is the focus here with a variety of fish, shrimp and octopus choices, each mixed with lime juice, onions and cilantro. The ceviche can be topped with a favorite sauce from the handful of spicy and creamy options. In addition to ceviche, the eatery serves other classic Peruvian dishes, like lomo saltado.

2. SuViche South Beach

Next up is SuViche South Beach at 1119 16th St., part of a local group of restaurants. This outpost showcases both Peruvian and Japanese flavors and features fish in the form of ceviche and as sashimi and sushi rolls. It also has a pisco bar highlighting the national spirit of Peru.

Try the lomo saltado bites that are made by chopping the Peruvian dish and stuffing it into a crispy wonton skin, served with a side of huancaina sauce. Or opt for an entree such as the pescado a lo macho (wild-caught breaded fish with aji amarillo and aji panca sauce). With 4.5 stars out of 390 reviews on Yelp, it has proven to be a local favorite.

3. Chalan on the Beach
