A 47-year-old man is in life-threatening condition after being stabbed Wednesday night in the South of Market neighborhood, according to police reports.

The incident occurred on the 100 block of 9th Street (at Mission Street) just before 9:41 p.m., when officers arrived at the scene. 

According to reports, the victim got into a fight with an unknown suspect, who subsequently stabbed him in the right side of his chest with a knife. 

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment, but his current condition is unknown, a representative from SFPD told Hoodline. 

Officers have not been able to locate the suspect, and a description is not available at this time.
