Five Guys burgers makes Potomac Yard debutPhoto: Shannon V./Yelp

Burger fans, take heed: there's a new spot in town to get your fix. The new Five Guys is located at 3525 Jefferson Davis Highway in Potomac Yard.

The international franchiser started right here in the D.C. metro area, where the Murrell family opened a takeout burger spot in 1986.

You'll find a straightforward menu built around the basic hamburger made from lean, never-frozen beef. Add cheese, bacon or both, then finish it off with as many toppings as you'd like, from a list that includes pickles, grilled mushrooms and hot sauce. There are also hot dogs, a couple of sandwiches and fresh-cut fries on offer.

This local outpost of Five Guys sits in the former Don Pablo's space in a building it shares with &pizza and Cava.

With a five-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp so far, the newcomer is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Yelper Lissette G. wrote, “Obviously Five Guys makes the best burgers in town, but here in Potomac Yard they just had their grand opening and are 100 percent committed to customer service. They opened the door for me when I came in, were prompt and friendly at the register, and were fully staffed.”

And Stacey F. wrote, "I always love the burgers and shakes at Five Guys. But tonight it was the greeter who made my day. He was so enthusiastic and friendly and just made you glad to be there."

Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Five Guys is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
