Town Square Eats debuts in Jack London SquarePhoto: Town Square Eats/Yelp

A new traditional American spot with several vegan options has made its debut in the neighborhood. Located inside the Crooked City Cider Taproom at 206 Broadway in Jack London Square, the new arrival is called Town Square Eats.

The collaboration between the operators of Perle Wine Bar and Great China features a menu of elevated pub food. Snacks include truffle-flavored potato chips with crema, caviar and micro herbs. Salads are centered around tofu, beets or avocado, though there's also a chicken salad with red cabbage, sesame, cashew and orange. Pizzas can be made with vegan cheese, and among the sandwiches are an onion dip Impossible Burger and a turkey sandwich with fried chicken skin, provolone and lingonberry.

The taproom's 25 ciders and 10 beers are available to Town Square customers, just as Town Square's food can be ordered by those in the taproom.

With a five-star rating out of 10 reviews on Yelp so far, the new addition has already made a good impression.

Mike L., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on March 20, wrote, "It's a small restaurant within the new brewery, Crooked City Cider. I wasn't expecting much, maybe quick bar food bite. I ordered their Impossible Burger, caviar chips and the sweet potato pie. Hands down one of the best meals I've had in a long time without spending much."

And Kyu L. wrote, "Staff were all super nice and friendly. With all the amazing food in the Jack London Square area, it's nice to have a menu that's actually 'new' and not just 'redone,' and apparently their menu is set to only get bigger with new items."

Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. Town Square Eats is open from 11 a.m.–9:30 p.m. on Sunday–Thursday and 11 a.m.–11:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
