On Saturday, May 6 at 1:06 a.m., a two-alarm fire broke out in a residential building at 1635 Golden Gate Ave. (at Scott). No injuries were reported, but five residents of the building were displaced.

The San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD) quickly extinguished the blaze, declaring it contained just 33 minutes later.

Lt. Jonathan Baxter, a SFFD spokesperson, told Hoodline that all of the displaced residents found alternate accommodations, and no Red Cross services were needed.

The building has been secured, he said, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
