The Bay Area's shelter-in-place order has brought countless events usually held as in-person gatherings online. This week, we're aiming to support local businesses in San Francisco and Oakland by highlighting five of these events each day.
Got a suggestion for an online event based in SF or Oakland? Email our events reporter, Teresa Hammerl.
Here's your SF events calendar for Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5. As you unwind this weekend, you can learn what it's like to adopt a bird, celebrate Golden Gate Park's 150th anniversary or try out some healing breathwork — all from the comfort of your couch.
Mickaboo Basic Bird Care Class
With weeks of shelter-in-place ahead, many might be considering the prospect of fostering, adopting or caring for a bird. Get a taste of what that might be like with bird rescue Mickaboo's digital bird care class, with info on diet, grooming, illness and first aid, and other aspects of caring for a feathered friend.
If the class piques your interest, you can apply to adopt or foster a bird from Mickaboo afterwards.
