The Bay Area's shelter-in-place order has brought countless events usually held as in-person gatherings online. We're aiming to support local businesses in San Francisco and Oakland by highlighting five of these events each day.

Neighborhood Trivia Night

Play Jack London Trivia with neighbors, family, and friends. Organzied by Oakland's Jack London Improvement District, come to a "fun and exciting game of trivia with local merchant prizes from the Jack London District."

Trivia host Jeff will bring four rounds of challenging questions to participants online.

Canada Week 2020: Chesterfield Chat With SF Bay Area Curling Club

Then, tune in and learn more about Canada’s "third national sport" and why curling is more than just throwing rocks on ice. Join the conversation with San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club's board of directors Ken Wallis and Mike Greenberg just in time to prepare for Canada Day, the country's national day, coming up on July 1.

Established in 1958, the San Francisco Bay Area Curling Club is the oldest arena curling club in the nation and has counted many Canadians as members over the years.

Wayne Shorter Celebration Part 2

Hosted by SFJAZZ, tune in to a concert with saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter's best friend Herbie Hancock and his longtime quartet, including pianist Danilo Pérez, bassist John Patitucci, and drummer Brian Blade.

The ensemble played for four nights at SFJAZZ in January 2019, when Shorter himself was scheduled to perform, but couldn't appear due to an illness that precluded travel.

For this special broadcast, 100% of tip jar proceeds will go directly to Wayne Shorter for his ongoing medical needs.

Oasis TV: Buffy the Vampire Slayer LIVE

Dust off your wooden stake, get your garlic and holy water and get ready for vampire season — SF Oasis presents a drag parody of season three of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," the popular 90s supernatural television series known for its groundbreaking themes, smart quips and indie rock score.

Tune in to the live YouTube chat for behind-the-scenes tea and stories. Chunky heals, baggy jeans and choker necklaces are optional.

Pride Celebration – San Francisco Dance Film Festival Digital Season

Over at the San Francisco Dance Film Festival, get ready for mini-documentaries, screendance shorts, and other dance films by diverse LGBTQIA+ artists, highlighting colorful voices that are crucial to making the dance community vibrant.

The evening will begin with instructions for a special pride-themed cocktail with local dancer, sommelier, and mixologist Michael Wells, and close with dancer and choreographerJocquese Whitfield teaching you how to vogue from home.
