The SF Board of Supervisors granted a permit to Another Planet Entertainment, a Berkeley-based concert promoter. It is well known for organizing the annual Outside Lands music festival in Golden Gate Park. In May, they managed to surprise us all with a daring proposal, they suggested an additional weekend of marquee concerts the weekend following Outside Lands. Many were thrilled to consider the proposal, however, Richmond and Sunset officials, who are dealing with the aftermath of an already chaotic weekend of musical excitements were quick to object this proposition.

But with some perseverance and, most importantly, additional pledges of financial support to the community groups, Another Planet Entertainment managed to smooth over the concerns to get a crucial thumbs up.

Toward the further celebrations of music, it’s an exciting three-year deal for the consecutive Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after the iconic Outside Lands Festival. The additional concerts in 2024, 2025, and 2026, will certainly add an unmatched melodic ambience to the scenic Polo Fields.

On one hand, where Outside Lands is represented in orange, the extra weekend concerts are depicted in pink, indicatively drawing the attention of the festival-goers for a smaller footprint. Although the concerts would not be as grand as Outside Lands, with only one stage and one headliner per day, they're guaranteed to be unmissable.
