Katy, Texas is ramping up its foodie scene with a flurry of new dining options set to entice gourmands and casual diners alike. According to recent permits filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, as reported by the Houston Chronicle, three new eateries – Hong Kong Food Street, Charley’s Cheesesteaks and Wings, and Taste of China – are preparing to serve up their dishes in this Houston suburb. Meanwhile, echoing these developments, Katy Grand, known for its broad culinary offerings, is adding five new restaurants to its roster including Uncle Tetsu and Wushiland Boba, further solidifying Katy as a premier dining destination.

The upcoming Charley’s Cheesesteaks and Wings location at 514 South Mason Road boasts a menu of Philly cheesesteaks, wings, fries, lemonades, fried appetizers, and frozen shakes. Slated to fling open the doors come July 1st, this fast-casual diner is spreading into a 2,561-square-foot space. Just a hop, skip, and a jump away, Hong Kong Food Street's second Houston area location in Katy Asian Town is building excitement with its anticipated Cantonese cooking, featuring specialties such as noodles, seafood, and roast meats. Construction on its sizable 3,786-square-foot home is expected to kick off March 15 with a finish line set for October 15.

Not to be left out in this dining expansion, Taste of China is set to introduce its Cantonese flair to a 4,513-square-foot space at 23015 Colonial Parkway. The planned construction timeline, initiating on April 15, aligns completion with its Katy Asian Town neighbor, Hong Kong Food Street’s anticipated grand opening, creating a simultaneous launch for the dual Cantonese offerings on October 15. On the other hand, as revealed by CultureMap Houston, Katy Grand is flexing its international culinary muscles with a quintet of eateries set to launch in the coming months.

Getting ready to grace Katy Grand with the much-buzzed-about jiggle of its cheesecakes, Uncle Tetsu will mark its Texas debut at this bustling venue. “We chose this location because it is a part of one of the newest, largest, and most exciting Asian-inspired shopping centers in Texas,” Laura Lund, senior regional real estate manager for Panda Restaurant Group, an Uncle Tetsu franchisee, told CultureMap Houston. Wushiland Boba, another exotic import rolling out alongside Uncle Tetsu, will be serving up Taiwanese teas like the Boba Milk Tea, and Ice Cream Milk Tea. The vibrant plans of Katy’s dining scene appear unmatched, as it braces itself to welcome veteran foodies and new patrons to its increasingly diverse table.
