A late evening tragedy struck Boca Raton on Friday when a local woman was hit and killed by a pickup truck as she sat in the middle of a busy road. The victim, identified as 31-year-old Kylee Renee Ayana-Jamile of the 23000 block of Atlantic Circle, was found exhibiting "abnormal behavior" before the fatal incident, as per the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

According to BocaNewsNow.com, Ayana-Jamile was wearing a black shirt and jean shorts, non-reflective attire that made it difficult for drivers to spot her on the road. The collision took place around 9:42 p.m. on Palmetto Park Road near the intersection of State Road 7, she sat in the outside turn lane, and by the time the man driving the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado approached and observed Ayana-Jamile it was too late for him to stop and prevent the accident.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to the distressing scene and pronounced Ayana-Jamile dead on spot, a grim end to what turned into a dire situation. The driver of the Silverado, although stuck in an unavoidable circumstance, is not being held responsible for the wrongful action, as officials suggest that Ayana-Jamile's unexpected presence on the road at night was the primary cause of her death.

Drugs and/or alcohol are suspected to have played a role in Ayana-Jamile's decision to enter the roadway; CBS12 reports a troubling account where the driver attempted to apply brakes to stop the vehicle but was unable to prevent hitting Ayana-Jamile, thus she was tragically pulled under the pickup in the collision's aftermath.
