Avondale drivers will face minor inconveniences as the city gears up to spruce up a couple of major thoroughfares. The Public Works Department, teaming up with VSS, is rolling out a pavement preservation gig for the folks down on Jimmie Johnson Drive and Indian Springs Road, starting bright and early on April 16.

Jimmie Johnson Drive is getting the treatment from the bridge to El Mirage Road, while Indian Springs Road will see some action from El Mirage Road to 133rd Avenue. The whole operation is set to wrap up by April 19th, a quick job if everything runs on the track.

The city's posted up signs all over to give drivers a heads-up. They're doing their bit to keep the traffic headaches to a minimum, with diversions and the like from 7:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.

For more information regarding the operation, hit up the Pavement Program Coordinator over at 623-333-4487, they've got the 411. The city’s press release can also be accessed here.
