A Massachusetts woman is facing multiple charges of animal cruelty after videos surfaced allegedly showing her abusing a dog, according to the Billerica Police Department. Police Chief Roy Frost reported that 36-year-old Amanda Cianciulli of Centerville is accused of using a shock collar on a dog to torture it while the animal was confined in a cage, as well as striking the dog with an object multiple times.

An investigation was launched on April 15 after the police were notified about the possibility of cruelty. It was the chilling footage that prompted officials to act, showcasing the alleged mistreatment by Cianciulli. Following the allegations, the suspect has allowed Billerica Police Animal Control to take possession of her four dogs for examination by a veterinarian. The animals are currently in the care of a veterinary professional.

As part of the ongoing investigation, Cianciulli was arrested on Friday and is being held at the Billerica Police station. She faces two counts of alleged animal cruelty and is awaiting her arraignment, which is scheduled for Monday in Lowell District Court.

This case has yet to unfold fully as the community awaits the legal proceedings. The Billerica Police Department has not released further details about condition of the dogs. However, public concern has been heightened as animal welfare advocates call for justice in this case. Cianciulli's arraignment will likely shed more light on the nature of the alleged abuse and the fate of the animals involved.
