Buckeye Seeks Resident Input on Future of Parks and Recreation with New Master PlanSource: City of Buckeye Official Website

Residents of Buckeye, your city wants to hear from you as it outlines its future for parks and recreation. Buckeye has launched an initiative to develop a Parks and Recreation Master Plan, a strategic guide for enhancing city parks, recreation facilities, trails, and programs over the next ten years or more, and public participation is key.

Citizens are urged to step up to the plate – community input is said to be critical for the success of this Master Plan. The city's website invites residents to share their thoughts in a slew of ways: by taking a survey, sharing ideas, pinpointing suggestions on an interactive map, and weighing in on how to prioritize funds.

The city will host a series of public meetings, providing residents with multiple chances to learn about the Master Plan, reveal preferences and give feedback directly to city planners. Here's the plan: you show up on April 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at City Hall; on April 23 at the Tartesso Fire Station at the same time; on April 24 at the Festival Fire Station from 5 to 7 p.m; on April 30 again from 6 to 8 p.m. at Coyote Library; and finally on May 1 at the Verrado Center on Main, again at 6 to 8 p.m. If you can't make it in person, virtual meetings will be held in May at PlanBuckeyeParks.com.

According to the city's announcement, this is a year-long planning process, so if you miss the meetings this time around keep an eye out—there will be more chances. Residents who want to be involved or kept in the loop can visit PlanBuckeyeParks.com for more information on the project, to give their input or to stay informed about future events and updates on the progress of the Plan.
