Flames erupted from a Daly City home Wednesday morning, leading to a rapid response from local firefighters who battled the blaze, successfully preventing it from spreading, as per city officials.

The North County Fire Authority reported that the fire started at a two-story house located at 61 San Juan Avenue, where firefighters arrived to find the ground floor engulfed in smoke and fire, they embarked on an immediate search-and-rescue mission while fighting the flames and discovered the residents had already made a safe escape, avoiding injuries.

Significant damage was inflicted on the home's interior, with the first floor ravaged by the blaze and the upper level suffering intense smoke and heat harm, according to the official press release. The fire left three individuals without a place to call home, now relying on the aid of the American Red Cross for shelter and support.

Firefighters camped out at the scene for over three hours, scrupulously scouring the structure for any lingering flames and what remained of the homeowners' possessions, that could be salvaged from the aftermath. Even though the exact cause remains under investigation, fire officials haven't dismissed the possibility of an overloaded extension cord sparking the devastating event.
