DCS Contracting Donation Bolsters Kid's Club Surprise, Expands Youth Transportation Services in ArizonaSource: X / City of Surprise

Surprise, Arizona's local youths have scored a lot more than just playtime with the latest development in after-school programming. Kids Club Surprise, an initiative designed to keep children engaged before and after school, recently received a generous $50,000 donation from DCS Contracting. The funds are earmarked to enhance transportation services, a game-changing move set to increase the program's reach by up to 50%.

Currently serving kids from kindergarten to 12th grade, the Club provides an array of services, including a free daily meal, homework aid, and a host of activities spanning arts to physical fitness. The boost in funding, courtesy of DCS Contracting, will be dished out in $10,000 annual increments over the next five years, aiding the program's transportation logistics.

"Being able to offer our community a very low cost before and after school program with a strong curriculum and positive environment is an absolute win,” City of Surprise Human Service & Community Vitality Department Director Seth Dyson was quoted saying in a statement. He expressed his gratitude for the donation, which will enable more families to benefit from the program's offerings.

Transportation, often a hurdle for such initiatives, is at the heart of Kids Club Surprise's expansion plan. "Transportation is the single biggest challenge facing our before and after school programs, and the additional funds will be a great way to grow our existing bus capacity," Dysart Community Center CEO Annie Ansell explained. The sentiment was echoed by DCS Contracting's President/General Manager of Construction, Brandon Byrne, who emphasized the company's dedication to community support—highlighting its role as a good corporate citizen, invested in the neighborhoods it serves.
