San Marcos Hails Grand Opening of Craft Coast Beer & Tacos' New HeadquartersSource: Google Street View

San Marcos has welcomed a new addition to its burgeoning food and beverage scene. Craft Coast Beer & Tacos, a name already familiar to San Diego County beer enthusiasts, has unleashed its new headquarters at 1325 Grand Avenue, Suite 100, and it's been met with a hearty reception from locals. The City of San Marcos announced the grand opening of Craft Coast’s doors in an official X post, inviting residents to come for "delicious food and drinks."

The Craft Coast excitement doesn't end with just a ribbon-cutting, as the company revealed on Instagram they're "super stoked on the turnout" at the new tasting room. They’re celebrating the community's support by extending operational hours starting this week. Craft Coast fans can now indulge in their award-winning beer and tacos with new hours set from noon to 8pm or 9pm depending on the day, with a closure only on Mondays.

Before pouring its first beer at the new facility, Craft Coast was hard at transforming the 6,700-square-foot space. Blake Masoner, co-founder of Craft Coast, told SanDiegoBeer.News, “We dove right in" after taking over former Rip Current Brewing’s location. The overhaul included operational enhancements focusing on brewing lagers — no small feat in San Marcos' heat. New equipment, such as a brite tank and a cold-liquor tank, was added for production efficiency.

Craft Coast's unveiling in San Marcos indicates a significant step for the company, which has rapidly built a name since its debut in August 2020. The brand proclaims the addition of packaging capabilities to its arsenal, with fan favorites like Agua Baja and Oscura hitting retail shelves soon. The San Marcos headquarters doesn't just promise a steady flow of its core beer lineup — it also acts as a standard-bearer for a distinctly San Diegan fusion of beer and tacos, a successful model that propelled the company to seek greater production and expanded reach, amid a global pandemic no less.

Masoner has also infused the new space with Craft Coast's signature flair. Collaborations with local artists like Sean Dominguez showcase the brewery's commitment to community and aesthetics. While keeping the general layout, upgrades like higher ceilings and garage-style doors have been made to enhance the patron experience.
