The Seattle Kraken is casting its broadcast net wider than ever before, thanks to freshly inked deals with TEGNA’s KING 5 and KREM 2, plus streaming giant Amazon Prime Video. Starting from the 2024 campaign, more than 70 nail-biting matches a season are slated to hit the airwaves and digital streams in a bid to satisfy the ravenous appetite of the Kraken fan base. KING 5 and the Kraken have both announced the partnership which counts free over-the-air broadcasts of preseason, regular, and postseason games not otherwise nationally televised.

Adding to the local fanfare, Prime Video enters as a sleek contender, exclusively streaming the Kraken’s full-contact hockey hullabaloo for Prime members in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. This strategic play positions the Kraken as the premier NHL team to team-up with Amazon's streaming service directly. "We want fans to be able to sit down and watch the games together as a family at home and stream them on a tablet on the go," the Kraken CEO Tod Leiweke remarked in a statement obtained by KREM 2. The broadcast dream team featuring John Forslund, JT Brown, and the Olczyk duo will continue delivering the on-air excitement, ensuring consistency in both viewing quality and commentary expertise.

Since their entrance to the big league in 2021, the team has hosted a brimming T-Mobile Winter Classic and danced in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs with gusto. Securing wins against the seasoned Colorado Avalanche and celebrating the rise of phenom Matty Beniers, the franchise's first-round draft choice and Calder Memorial Trophy recipient, all ensure that the Kraken are not just making waves, but seismic sports splashes.

“ROOT has been a terrific partner for us; we have appreciated their support as we determined our broadcast plans moving forward,” Sam Holloway, Kraken's enthusiastic owner, praised the former broadcaster in a statement. “Today’s announcement is a game changer for our fans. Our goal is to increase the ways they can watch our games – whether they’re cheering us on at home or on the go. To have both TEGNA and Prime Video as trusted partners is a dream come true. I can’t wait for more fans to fall in love with Kraken hockey.” he added, according to the team's press release
