Barrow County has an unexpected trotter roaming its roads, a lost horse meandering along Tom Miller Road caused quite a stir Thursday. This brown beauty, found just south of Haymon Morris Road, prompted the Barrow County Sheriff's Office to step in and corral the animal, FOX 5 Atlanta reported.

The horse is now being housed in a nearby stable, safe from the dangers of the road, but the mystery of its ownership remains unsolved; the authorities have made a call to the public for assistance, asking anyone with information to step forward and dial 770-307-3122 yet no one has yet claimed the animal. Residents of Winder and the surrounding areas are advised to check their stables, as this could very well be a case of an accidental escape or an oversight.

In a post, the Barrow County Sheriff's Office shared an image of the horse with hopes of jogging the community's memory; it's a plea for recognition, a brown horse alone just doesn't belong on pavement lined with yellow stripes. The horse was held at 827 Tom Miller Road – a temporary home.

Residents with missing horses or knowledge about the roaming equine are urged to make contact with Barrow County officials at 770-307-3122 for a reunion that would surely bring relief both to the animal and the community, conversely if no owner comes forward the question arises, what becomes of this horse; a creature noble and same used to the open fields now corralled in a stable that is not its home. Barrow County's search continues, trying to close the gap between lost and found, WSBTV reports.
