A deeper dive by the cops revealed more than just drug paraphernalia. A haul of meth weighing 7.7 grams and an extra pipe, burglary instruments, and, alarmingly, a loaded Smith and Wesson SD 9mm handgun with its serial number defaced were all extracted from the vehicle as the search unfolded; the department's alert, visible on their Facebook page, detailed the incident.

It wasn’t the first run-in with the law for the driver, with the records check indicating his status as a convicted felon, which landed him a one-way ticket to the Santa Rita Jail on numerous felony and misdemeanor charges, but suspect 2—the female passenger—wasn't left behind, arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, as per the department's alert.
