It seems the weather gods didn't bother to RSVP to the Movie in the Park's invite. As a result, officials had to swiftly cancel the event to avoid the unsettling mix of wind and wetness from putting a literal damper on moviegoers' evenings.

The original buzz around the event promised a wholesome outing starting at 8:25 p.m., with concessions rolling out treats an hour earlier for the early birds. It was an all-systems-go situation until nature decided to rock the boat, leaving city staff discontentedly pulling plugs out of sockets and dismantling what would’ve been an ideal family setup. "We are working to reschedule this event at a future date and will provide more information as it becomes available," the city's message read, hoping to not completely deflate the anticipation balloon.
