Gunfire shattered the early morning calm in North Seattle this weekend in a drive-by shooting that left one man injured. According to the Seattle Police Blotter, patrol officers rushed to respond to a flood of 911 calls reporting shots fired shortly after 3 a.m. on Saturday.

Upon their 3:15 a.m. arrival on the 10500 block of Aurora Avenue Northeast, officers discovered a scene peppered with shell casings and shortly after, a call came in from a man claiming he'd been shot early Saturday a victim called in to report a gunshot wound. The timing of the events suggests the incident unfolded rapidly, with the responding officers locating the injured man about ten minutes later at 12th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 70th Street.

Seattle Fire Department medics treated the man on the scene before he was swiftly transported to Harborview Medical Center; he is reportedly in serious condition. Officers at the scene cordoned off the area to cull through evidence, where a damaged vehicle that seemed to be connected to the shooting was soon found and taken away for further examination.
