San Pablo Police Confiscate Unregistered 'Ghost Guns' From Convicted Felons in Separate IncidentsSource: San Pablo Police Department

The San Pablo Police Department had a busy night, with two incidents involving unregistered firearms being confiscated within one hour. The drama began when officers, responding to a "Shot Spotter" activation, swiftly detained a 46-year-old convicted felon from San Pablo, who had fired a gun near his residence. According to the department's Facebook post, the man admitted to "testing out" the firearm in his yard, a densely populated area. A search warrant later executed by Officer Torres uncovered a loaded, unregistered polymer 80 pistol—commonly known as a ghost gun—in the suspect's kitchen.

Shortly thereafter, in a separate incident, Officer Swaleh and K-9 Partner Trace stopped a suspect vehicle linked to an armed robbery. The driver, a 39-year-old Oakland resident with a grand theft record, was found to possess a gold-colored "ghost gun" and an extended magazine near the driver’s seat. A further search of the vehicle turned up a large quantity of drugs, as well as other individuals’ mail and debit cards. Although the man made some admissions to the robbery, he claimed that he didn't commit it.

Both men, being convicted felons, were prohibited from firearm possession. The police department noted no injuries occurred in either incident and emphasized the apprehended suspects no longer posed a threat to the community. They were each booked into county jail, facing several felony charges.

In a statement to the public, the San Pablo Police Department highlighted the efficiency and dedication of its officers: "That’s two guns taken out of the hands of convicted felons in just one hour of work by Graveyard Officers!"
