A 7-year-old boy was tragically killed in a house fire that occurred in south Houston, with his grandmother also sustaining injuries and rushed to the emergency room. The Houston Fire Department responded to the blaze at approximately 3:30 p.m. Saturday on the 3000 block of Friar Point Road, as reported by Click2Houston.

Upon arrival firefighters extinguished the flames they discovered two individuals seriously injured, unfortunately, the young boy was later pronounced dead while his grandmother's condition at the hospital remains unknown, there were additionally three children who managed to escape from the burning home without serious harm. The cause of the fire is currently under the investigation by the Arson unit of HFD, these details were also confirmed via a Houston Fire Department post on X.
