Bexar County Sheriff Launches Special Task Force to Apprehend Suspects in Fatal San Antonio Shooting of 4-Year-OldSource: Google Street View

More than a month has passed since the grim night on Windsor Hollow Drive, yet the culprits behind the guns remain at large. The violence that erupted on May 8, when more than thirty rounds of ammunition tore into a northeast-side home, claimed the life of 4-year-old Mary Ann Marble and critically injured her family. In response to the continued evasiveness of the suspects, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office has announced the formation of a special task force to intensify the manhunt, as reported by KENS 5.

The Bexar County Sheriff, Javier Salazar, detailed the task force's agenda, which is to engage multiple units within the sheriff's office, including covert and intelligence operatives, cybersecurity experts, and the fugitive apprehension squad. According to a statement obtained by KENS 5, the sheriff's spokesperson outlined that each specialized unit would focus their efforts on apprehending those responsible for what Salazar had previously labeled a "targeted attack." Yet, despite these resources and a $5,000 reward for information that could lead to arrests, the community's assistance remains crucial to identify the suspects.

The authorities had discovered an abandoned vehicle believed to be the suspects' getaway car on the west side of the city a few days after the shooting. The car in question, a silver or gray Infiniti Q50, was suspected to be linked to the shooters based on surveillance footage. The Sheriff's department, in their ongoing investigation, has identified multiple persons of interest, as mentioned in a MySA report. Salazar had expressed with some determination that they are "hot on their tracks," and once apprehended, the suspects could face capital murder charges, a repercussion he would find "great pleasure" in pursuing.

The Sheriff's briefing painted a horrifying picture, as recounted by MySA. Two gunmen approached the home within 10 to 15 feet before unloading their AK-47-style rifles, which resulted in what was termed as "Swiss cheesing" the front of the residence. Salazar acknowledged that prior exchanges between the injured adults and someone believed to be a suspect might have occurred, leading to the presumption that the attackers knew children were present in the home at the time of the assault. As the tragedy continues to grip the community, Sheriff Salazar solicits any knowledge about the shooters, encouraging anyone with information to come forward and contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at (210) 224-STOP.
