San Antonio's East Side community is dealing with the aftermath of a tragic hit-and-run that claimed the life of 71-year-old Allen Brown. According to reports from FOX San Antonio, Brown was identified by the medical examiner after being fatally struck by an SUV on East Commerce Street near South Hackberry Street late Sunday evening, June 9.

The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. when Brown was crossing the street, at this time police had not yet apprehended the driver who is accused of hitting Brown and then fleeing the scene without offering help despite the severity of the collision, this, according to information obtained by News 4 San Antonio. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene, and authorities continue to search for the suspect involved in the hit-and-run.
