Five individuals were taken into custody on Detroit's west side after the Detroit Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in O'Hair Park. The incident, which occurred at around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, involved two Jeep Cherokees that matched the description given to authorities, stated WWJ Newsradio. According to reports, officers attempted to stop the vehicles, and a chase ensued ending when one of the Jeeps suffered a flat tire and a suspect was found to have a gunshot wound to the leg, details that were also confirmed by ClickOnDetroit.

Both outlets provided detailed information regarding the weapons seized, with officers reporting the recovery of four firearms, which included an AR-style long gun and an AR-style pistol, this detail demonstrates the gravity of the situation as the suspects were heavily armed, and the local community might have faced a greater threat had it not been for the swift response of law enforcement. The wounded suspect was transported to Sinai Grace Hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition.

There is a possibility that the wounding of the suspect could be related to an officer-involved shooting, however, that has not been confirmed officially.
