As Comerica Park approaches its 25th anniversary, the Detroit Tigers have announced a series of upgrades to their stadium seating intended to elevate the game-day experience. According to The Detroit News, a new, exclusive Home Plate Club and a series of Loge Boxes will be introduced, to provide high-end, all-inclusive amenities to fans.

Construction for these projects is set to commence this year, with a staggered completion schedule running into next season. The Detroit Free Press reported that 490 regular seats will be supplanted by 350 premium seats, creating a revised capacity that prioritizes exclusivity and comfort over sheer numbers. Additionally, the Loge Boxes will offer a semi-private viewing experience, enhancing the luxury aspect of attending a game.

The Home Plate Club, which will be constructed beneath the stands, is to feature direct access from the upgraded seats behind the home plate, a private entrance, and all-inclusive services including food and beverages, private restrooms, and in-seat service. As detailed by Detroit Free Press, premium seating behind the home plate is slated to be ready by the 2025 home opener, while the full club experience will be unfolded later in the season.

Facilities for the visiting team are also being updated, with a renovated weight room and improved clubhouse spaces. This move mirrors an industry-wide trend where teams such as Toronto, Seattle, Atlanta, and the New York Mets have made similar enhancements to uplift the player and visitor accommodations, a detail The Detroit News pointed out.

Ilitch Sports and Entertainment have stressed their commitment to enhancing both fan and player experiences, as Ryan Gustafson, president, and CEO, mentioned in a statement obtained by Detroit Free Press: "Our goal is to continue investing and creating a variety of best-in-class experiences for all fans. Adding exclusive, premium seating options is the feedback we've heard constantly, and we are thrilled to unveil these exciting upgrades during the 2025 season."

Meanwhile, MLive noted that the area designated for the Home Plate Club is currently used for equipment storage, grounds crew operations, and umpire locker rooms, indicating that the new club will repurpose and revitalize existing space within the stadium.
