FBI Offers $10,000 Reward for Information on Suspected Murderer Joseph "Troubles" Matos in Chicago National Guardsman's DeathSource: FBI Chicago

The FBI-Chicago has put a price on justice. In a recent FBI announcement, Special Agent in Charge Robert W. "Wes" Wheeler Jr. disclosed that the bureau is offering a reward of $10,000 for information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of Joseph "Troubles" Matos. The Milwaukee Kings gang member is the prime suspect in the shooting death of National Guardsman Chrys Carvajal, over the holiday weekend when the young man was simply making his way to his car after a party.

On May 14, an arrest warrant was issued for Matos, charged with murder in aid of racketeering and using a firearm to commit murder, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. According to the FBI, Matos should be regarded as armed and dangerous. Public members have been urged not to put themselves in harm’s way by approaching him.

The Milwaukee Kings have a notorious history in Chicago's North Side, with a rap sheet that includes narcotics trafficking and a pantheon of violent crimes, from assault to murder, all to maintain control over their slice of the city. This Fourth of July turned especially tragic when their alleged violence claimed the life of Carvajal.

In their pursuit of Matos, the FBI stresses that additional reward money might be available. They encourage anyone who has relevant information to call 1-800-CALL-FBI or visit tips.fbi.gov to submit a tip.
