A Multnomah County jury has found Alec James Baldridge, 26, guilty of second-degree murder and unlawful weapon use in the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Dominic Jacoby, which occurred outside Jacoby's Gresham residence back in August 2021; Multnomah County District Attorney's Office confirmed the verdict that was reached on June 4.

The deliberation followed a court process stretching from May 28 to June 4 under the supervision of Judge Heidi Moawad, Senior Deputy District Attorney Todd Jackson served as the prosecutor, and after much consideration, the trial concluded with a unanimous decision by the 12-person jury. Baldridge, who has been incarcerated since the arrest, will continue to be held in custody at a Multnomah County detention facility pending his sentencing which is set for July 12 in front of the same presiding judge.

Judge Heidi Moawad presided over the court proceedings and after the week-long trial, the jury reached their verdict convicting Baldridge, The sentence for the crimes of which Baldridge has been found guilty has yet to be determined but the DA's office has publicly acknowledged the Gresham Police Department for their instrumental role in investigating the case leading to the eventual guilty plea.

As the legal process draws to a close, attention now turns to the upcoming sentencing, while community members and the families involved anticipate the final judgment to be rendered on July 12, The DA’s Office has not yet specified the potential sentence length but Baldridge remains in custody until further court action. In the wake of this case, the Gresham community has grappled with the implications of violence on their city streets and the responsibilities of local law enforcement to prevent such tragedies.
