Early Sunday morning, a 27-year-old man was fatally shot in South Seattle, sparking an investigation by local authorities. According to Seattle Police Department's Blotter, officers were called to the 1000 block of Occidental Avenue South at approximately 3:48 a.m. upon receiving a report of a shooting incident.

When the authorities arrived, they found the victim with a single gunshot wound to the chest. Despite their arriving swiftly on scene, the Seattle Fire Department declared the man dead. With the handgun found at the scene now in police custody, officers set up a perimeter, laying the groundwork for a comprehensive search by the Homicide Unit and the Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
