Once on scene, H-30 deployed a Marin County Fire paramedic down to the fallen hiker using a hoist. Despite the challenging terrain, the rescue team managed to secure the hiker in a harness and both were hoisted from the creek bed. After the rescue, they were flown to Alpine Dam, where an ambulance was waiting to transport, the patient, to a local hospital. The hiker reportedly sustained moderate injuries from the accident.

The joint effort by the multiple agencies underscored the importance of collaboration in emergency situations. The successful rescue was carried out efficiently thanks to the experienced professionals involved in the operation. The patient's current condition has not been publicly released but they were last reported receiving care for the injuries sustained.

This incident is a stark reminder of the inherent risks associated with hiking, especially in areas with difficult terrain. Hikers are encouraged to always prepare adequately before embarking on their journeys, stay on marked trails, and carry a means of communication in case of emergencies. The quick response and expert execution of this rescue operation serve as evidence of the commitment of local agencies to public safety in Marin County's outdoor spaces.
