Osceola County hit a new stride in the expansion of its technology endeavors with the debut of Neovation Way, the freshly minted gateway to the burgeoning 500-acre NeoCity technology campus. This development was formally unfolded in a ribbon-cutting event attended by Osceola County Commission Chair Cheryl Grieb and an assortment of dignitaries, signaling a promising step for the area's economic ambitions.
Set to open to the public come 10 a.m. on Friday, This new artery is designed as a two-lane divided roadway equipped with sidewalks, a shared-use trail, on-street parking, and distinctive bricked pedestrian crossings. Not only does it stand as a meaningful addition to the infrastructural landscape, Neovation Way reflects the county’s mantra, "Be First to What’s Next!" according to Osceola County.
Beyond being a mere passage, Chairwoman Grieb emphasizes the road’s larger import. “Neovation Way is more than just a road,’’ she revealed in a statement. “It represents a gateway to all of the opportunity and prosperity that NeoCity has to offer not only our residents, but the Central Florida region, the state and ultimately the U.S. economy.” as per Osceola County. Her commentary underscores the strategic significance placed on NeoCity as the linchpin of the county's economic future.
The construction of Neovation Way involved a competitively awarded design/build contract with the Jr. Davis Construction Company, rounding up to a cost of about $14.6 million. Florida's generous pledge, delivered through a $6 million grant from the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund, was a decisive factor in the endeavor. "We continue to be grateful to our partners – in this case the Governor’s office and FloridaCommerce for recognizing the significance of NeoCity and helping advance our vision," Grieb stated according to Osceola County.
Neovation Way isn't merely a stretch of pavement. It catalyzes the potential to draw more pioneering ventures to NeoCity, marrying critical infrastructure to the promise of economic revitalization. It paves the way for a tight-knit connection with downtown Kissimmee, bolstering the area's ambitions of becoming a nexus for advanced manufacturing and high-tech industry innovation.
