The Pacifica Police Department responded to a welfare check at a home on Keith Avenue early yesterday morning, only to find that the subject had left prior to their arrival, according to a recent Facebook post. The individual, whom authorities have not publicly identified, is believed to have left the area on a motorcycle. An expansive search effort, hindered by poor visibility and challenging terrain, spanned from the time of the report into the following morning.

Collaborating closely with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, firefighters from the North County Fire Authority, and air units from the U.S. Coast Guard and California Highway Patrol, police began to comb through the Devil's Slide area thoroughly. The extensive search resulted in the grim discovery of a body on the beach below the bluffs at approximately 9:00 a.m. today.
