Philadelphia Police are reaching out to the community as they seek assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a recent robbery. The incident, captured on video and shared with the public, occurred early on the morning of May 30, 2024, just as the city was stirring to life.

The robbery took place at the corner of 2nd Street and Arch Street at approximately 6:35 a.m. The victim, a 30-year-old woman, was approached by an unidentified female who physically assaulted her and snatched her cellphone. With dreadlocked hair and dressed in a dark jacket and tan shorts, the suspect fled towards Independence Park, leaving the victim to recover her own stolen property from a trash can nearby.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department's Central Detective Division, the woman was able to track her cell phone, which helped in the recovery but still leaves the perpetrator at large. The detectives have turned to residents and anyone who might have witnessed the incident for further help. A video clip showing the suspect has been published, and those with any information are encouraged to come forward.

Described as a white or Hispanic female, the suspect's distinct dreadlock hairstyle could be a key feature in identifying her.
