The Pacifica Police Department has apprehended Sandagdorj Sanjaasuren, aged 23, in connection with an alleged arson that occurred on Rifle Range Road in April. According to the Pacifica Police Department, a witness captured a photograph of a man allegedly starting a fire on the property before fleeing the scene. Their investigation, aided by community assistance, led to the identification of Sanjaasuren, a San Francisco native.

Following the release of the suspect's photo and a public appeal for his identification, a $50,000 felony arrest warrant was issued. The unidentified subject in the photo, wearing a distinctive cloak, is also known to frequent a local archery range. Pacifica Police detectives contacted and apprehended Sanjaasuren on June 18, subsequently booking him into the San Mateo County Jail without incident.

Sanjaasuren now faces charges filed by the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office for violation of 451(c) PC, which pertains to the arson of a structure or forest. The quick resolution of the case highlights the integral role of community involvement in law enforcement's investigative process. The Pacifica Police Department expressed gratitude toward the community members for their vital assistance in the apprehension of the suspect.
