Suspected Child Predator & Ex-Teacher Tyler Degiacomo Charged with Child Sex Abuse & Trafficking in Pennsylvania and AlabamaSource: Springfield Township Police Department

In a troubling discovery, a 33-year-old man from Oreland, Pennsylvania, faces serious allegations involving minors. Tyler Degiacomo, a former substitute teacher and coach, has been charged with multiple counts related to the sexual abuse and trafficking of children. Springfield Township Police Department disclosed the arrest on Monday, noting that at least four victims have been identified, stretching from Pennsylvania to Alabama.

According to FOX29, the investigation was spurred by a parent's report in March 2024 after finding child sexual abuse material on their daughter's phone, which was linked to a man named "Tyler." Further scrutiny by the authorities led to the execution of search warrants and extensive digital forensic analysis. The probe revealed exchanges of such material attributed to Degiacomo, involving juveniles from Montgomery County, another victim in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, and one in Houston County, Alabama.

Victims reportedly came into contact with Degiacomo via TikTok and Snapchat, as shown in text messages obtained in the criminal complaint which stated, "Do you want money or not?" and "Are you going to do something for it?" 6ABC reports that some of these illicit interactions were allegedly compensated with cash, vapes, and alcohol.

As the investigation unfolded, police learned that gatherings took place at various locations including Degiacomo's apartment building, parking lots, and hotels. During this ongoing inquiry, law enforcement officials have expressed concerns that there could be more victims, and they urge anyone with possible information to step forward. According to CBS News Philadelphia, Springfield Township Police Department's Detective Stephen Craig can be contacted with such information. Meanwhile, Degiacomo's bail has been set at $500,000 cash following his arraignment on Saturday. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 11.
