An early morning dispute on the streets of Chicago's Chatham neighborhood turned deadly this Sunday. At around 2:17 a.m., an argument between three individuals and two men escalated, leading to a tragic shootout. According to NBC Chicago, after the disagreement, the pair of men got into a silver SUV and proceeded to open fire on the trio before swiftly driving away. The violence unfolded in the 500 block of East 76th Street.

The gunfire claimed the lives of two men and a woman, each hit multiple times by bullets. The University of Chicago Medical Center received two of the victims, who were later pronounced dead, and the survivors' fight against mortality was cut short in the sterile confines of a hospital. A third victim was pronounced dead after being taken to Stroger Hospital, as reported by NBC Chicago.

As of now, the perpetrators remain at large with the silver SUV last observed headed east on 76th Street. ABC 7 Chicago notes that no additional injuries were reported in the incident.
