Two teenage boys are recuperating from serious injuries after being shot on Wednesday night in two separate incidents on the city's South Side. The first incident, involving a 16-year-old boy, occurred shortly before 10:45 p.m. on the 200 block of West 87th Street. Authorities found the teenager with a gunshot wound to the leg and transported him in serious condition to Comer Children's Hospital, reported the Chicago Tribune.

Another shooting took place roughly an hour later in the Roseland neighborhood. A 17-year-old boy was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds in the 10000 block of South Perry Avenue around 11:45 p.m. He was initially in critical condition but was later upgraded to fair, according to ABC7 Chicago. A witness told police officers on the scene that the potential shooters may have fled the scene in a white SUV.

As of now, no suspects are in custody for either incident, and the detectives from the Chicago Police Department's Area Two are leading the investigations to uncover any potential leads or motives behind these violent acts.

Authorities are calling for any individuals with information to come forward. The authorities have not yet released additional details regarding potential suspects or motives behind the shootings.
