This Tuesday, April 8th, is Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's. In case you don't know, the tradition started to mark the first anniversary of the ice cream company's flagship store back in 1979. They continue the tradition every year at every store, including the one at the corner of Haight & Ashbury.
Generally, there's a line down Ashbury Street all day, but the strange euphoria of picking a flavor and getting a cone completely gratis is well worth the wait. And if you head over before noon, it's not so bad.
