We frequently report on the newest businesses opening around town, but today, a look at some recently reported closures (with major assistance from tipster Al M.)
II Pescatore Restaurant (31 Webster St.)
Founded in 1980, the Italian restaurant in Jack London Square was best known for its waterfront views and classic Tuscan dishes.
Shiny Tea (901 Franklin St.)
Boba shop Shiny Tea was temporarily closed for renovations and staff training and will soon rebrand as T & Bowl. "Gone are the leather sofa and lounge chairs," tipster Al. M told Hoodline.
Now, the interior space is filled with mirrors and boutique-style, high-backed seats, while the counter and menu remain the same. The bubble tea shop, now under new ownership, will reportedly offer poke after workers receive their food safety handling certifications.
Ghazal Indian Cuisine
Al M. also reports that Ghazal Indian Cuisine (131 Broadway) has "shuttered for good." The interior is now gutted and a notice posted on the window reveals that an application to sell alcoholic beverages has been placed. No word yet on who plans to take over the ABC license and lease.
Other restaurants reportedly "closed" on Yelp: Organic Choice (175 98th Ave.), known for its crepes and Greek/Mexican entrees, and Hunan Restaurant (396 11th St.), a casual Chinese restaurant that experienced issues involving food and service quality.
